Apple Picking

Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for apple picking from 10am to 5:00pm

If you are from the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge or Guelph area and are planning on apple picking – We make it easy to pick your own, so you can have the maximum amount of fun. Here’s how it works:

Bags: Complimentary bags will be provided upon arrival. All fruit is paid for at the entrance to the orchard. Participants have the choice of a 10lb bag for $25 or a 20lb bag for $40. Bags/backpacks from home will not be permitted in the orchard. There is a $5 entrance fee per person to pick your own apples on Saturdays and Sundays.

Entrance Fee: There is a $8 entrance fee during our flower season which includes wagon rides, corn maze, sunflower walk, and children’s play area. (pick your own flowers an additional cost)

Ready Pick Apples: Are available from end of August until season closing. (approx mid October) All participants are encouraged to visit early in the season to avoid disappointment!

Please note that when varieties become ready, we are typically picking them for about 3 weeks.

Location: Our apple orchard is easy to get to from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph areas and is located beside the parking lot at Downey’s Big Apple Farm in Breslau

Wagon Rides: Are available each weekend out to the orchard (weather permitting)

Hours: Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. (closed on Tuesdays)

Thanksgiving: We will be open Thanksgiving Monday

Buses: If you are planning a bus trip to go apple picking at the orchard, please contact us before you come so that we are ready for you!

Apples don′t have fat, cholesterol or sodium, which may help maintain heart health and a healthy weight.

Apples contain small amounts of potassium, which may promote heart health and help maintain healthy blood pressure.

The skin of an apple can have 6 times more antioxidants than the flesh.

Apples do have lots of soluble and insoluble fiber. Fiber may help promote heart health and maintain regularity.

Apples and apple juice are two important foods contributing the mineral boron to the diet, which may promote bone health.

Apples contain a large amount of minerals and vitamins that can strengthen the blood.
